Chanel Matryoshka Doll Bag
A collector’s piece in the true sense, the Chanel doll bag was designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself for the Paris-Moscow Pre-Fall 2009 Collection. This bag was part of a limited edition collection that was inspired by the Russian Matryoshka doll and was made of gold and resin.
Featuring the emblematic CC logo, this bag once again went viral when Indian entrepreneur Isha Ambani attended this year’s Met Gala by pairing the iconic Russian Doll bag with a custom Prabal Gurung ensemble.
Yves Saint Laurent Take-Away Box
The bag is crafted in vegetable-tanned leather and available in black and brown gold with embossed details of the house’s logo. It was showcased by Anthony Vaccarello in the Aghfi desert for the Spring/Summer 2023 men’s collection. If you ask us, the YSL Take Away Box is a weird yet chic luxury bag that makes a great, quirky conversation starter. And, if you are a top-handle zeitgeist, all the more reason you should get it.
JW Anderson Pigeon Clutch
The pigeon clutch today is one of the most viral products on social media, thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie Bradshaw who was spotted holding it in the TV show And Just Like That…. The USD 890 pigeon clutch may look strange compared to its counterparts but nevertheless, makes for a good laugh. JW Anderson first showcased it in the Fall/Winter 2022 collection. He told Harper’s Bazaar, “I wanted an element of something a bit silly in the collection, a contrast to the situation at the time.”
The quirky thing about this weird luxury bag is that it is a 3D-printed clutch, so it looks like you are holding a real pigeon. The designer also shared, “Fashion has this great way of allowing us to escape reality. Also, pigeons are so inherently unglamorous, it’s funny to turn it into a functional object like a clutch bag that’s typically seen as quite glamorous.”
Bottega Veneta Brown Paper Bag
Bottega Veneta hit it out of the park with this bag because it looks exactly like a regular paper bag but is entirely made of calfskin. Hence, the exorbitant price tag. The brown bag comes in two sizes and is described as a “small paper-like leather shopping bag” on the brand’s official website. Lined with suede, it doesn’t have a pouch or chain but the bag is sturdier than its paper counterpart.
Without a doubt, the brown paper bag is a true testament to the brand’s impeccable craftsmanship to produce quality leather goods.
Louis Vuitton Paint Can Bag
Under Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton was experimental, to say the least. And for the late Creative Director’s final collection, this leather paint can bag was featured among a slew of other statement-making accessories. The leather paint cans come in a variety of hues like purple, orange, red, green, yellow, and blue.
When the bag first came out, the Maison on Instagram described it as a reinterpretation of “familiar objects in imaginative ways”. Who would have thought that traditional paint cans would have looked this unconventionally good?

Complete with the House’s minimal and almost invisible logo branding at the front, the bag also has an adjustable strap and can be closed at the top with a drawstring.
Demna even shared with WWD , “I couldn’t miss an opportunity to make the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal?”
